Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck
I am not ashamed to admit that I can be a very over protective mom. I believe that one of my responsibilities is to monitor what my children see and hear. People my age may think that it's weird or uncool that I don't know what the Top 40 songs are. Well I have a good reason for not knowing. When I am in the car, 99% of the time my kids are with me. I'm sorry, but I really don't want them repeating the lyrics that you hear on a Top 40 channel. So when we're not listening to our local Christian radio station, we have one of their kid's CD's in.
I was recently given the opportunity to review the new up and coming album from Rebecca Freeza & Big Truck called "Rockin' Rollin' and Ridin'" I have to say that even as a mom, I enjoyed it. The songs are simple which is good because my kids were able to pick up on them quickly and begin to sing along. My favorite song on the CD is titled Superman. What little boy doesn't dream of being Superman or some other action hero?
Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck, familiar to families across the country through their their music videos on the Noggin Channel and PBS KIDS, will release their fifth album in time for the holidays. Rockin’, Rollin’ and Ridin’ features Roscoe Orman – known to millions for his 35 years as “Gordon” on PBS-TV’s Sesame Street - as guest artist.
Rockin’, Rollin’, and Ridin’ is a 23-minute EP, featuring six new Rebecca Frezza songs, plus two special, remixed audio tracks and a bonus video, each one highlighting the high energy, tight ensemble work of vocalist Rebecca Frezza and the precision backup singers and instrumentalists of Big Truck.

More Music For the Kiddie Set
I recently got a chance to review two new children's CD's and readers I tell you, you're in for a treat!
First off, Rebecca Frezza and Big Truck are back, with their newest album Rockin', Rollin' and Ridin' that releases November 10th. It's going to be available at a great price...only $8.99.
Great price you say, but is it good? Will my kids like it? Will I be able to endure it without wanting to rip out my hair by by its roots?
Yesiree bob! It's been in the CD changer in my truck for two weeks straight and I haven't flung it out the window yet! Rebecca's melodic voice and Big Truck's perfect harmonies make for musical perfection. It even has a special guest that we all know and love from Sesame Street. It's only 23 minutes long with eight tracks and my kids clamor to listen to it every day on the way to or home from school.
The boy's favorites are Hey-O and Superman. I have to admit that I've caught myself belting out Hey-O when the kids aren't even around. The whole album is groovy and feel good and you won't soon tire of it.

Rebecca Frezza: Rockin', Rollin' and Ridin'
[Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck] are coming out with a new CD, Rockin’, Rollin’ and Ridin’, on November 10.
We’ve had the chance to preview the album and I only have one complaint… Why am I only finding out about this band now?!
Sometimes you come across a new band that just grabs you and makes you want to search out all their other CDs (like Recess Monkey—those guys are awesome). Rebecca Frezza and Big Truck are like that.
Their sound is very intricate and cohesive. The band is huge (similar to Milkshake), and they all work together to produce a fun, funky rock beat. I’d love to see these guys play live—I’m sure it’s impressive!
My favorite member of the band has to be Beth, the flautist. The flute just adds such a rich layer to the songs, more so than I would have guessed. Plus, rock flute is just plain cool! Of course, the lead guitarist is named Ivan, so we have to like him, too!
All of the songs on this CD are winners. You’ll definitely want to check out Big Truck and Robot Dancer (our favorites), but don’t forget Hey-O, featuring vocals by Gordon from Sesame Street!
If you’re looking for more Big Truck fun, check out the new video below, or visit Rebecca Frezza’s My Space page to listen to some of her music. Happy trucking!

Rockin', Rollin' and Ridin': Rebecca Frezza and Big Truck
Rebecca Frezza and Big Truck have been creating a buzz in the Kids' Music industry. They have been featured on Jack's Big Music Show. Rebecca's most recent solo album Special Kind of Day received a Parent's Choice Award. Rockin', Rollin' and Ridin' is just slightly longer than an EP (with 8 tracks of music), but it also comes with a fun music video for the song Big Truck.
From the get-go Rockin', Rollin' and Ridin' does just that, Rocks and Rolls. In addition to her six piece band, Rebecca Frezza is joined by Roscoe Orman.
Listeners will recognize his voice as Gordon From Sesame Street. At it's core Frezza's music has an acoustic/pop sound, but Big Truck adds a rockin' edge that will get your young music lovers on their feet. The lyrics capture the imaginative world of toy trucks, robots and rocketship rides to the moon. Rebecca Frezza's song writing style is rhythmic and repetitive which makes it catchy and perfect for the younger crowd. In the press release that accompanied the CD, Big Truck is billed as music for the "in-between crowd," however, the album art work, the thematic material and the simplicity of the songs make it better for the preschool aged listener.

Under My Radar: Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck
Despite my obvious love for quality kids’ music, I often worry I may be stumbling into Raffi or Wiggles territory with some artists. As in, kid-tested, daddy-not-approved. While I seem to have blind faith in any music coming out of Yo Gabba Gabba, or any indie artists going kindie, I have a very “guilty-until-proven-innocent” approach to most musicians making music for children.
When I had the chance to check out Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck’s new album, Rockin’, Rollin’ and Ridin‘, I was, as usual, worried what I was in for. However, upon popping it into the CD player and hitting shuffle, I was instantly surprised by the power-pop rock song “Superman,” which immediately made it to daddy-approved status. Nope, Mr. Raffi Cavoukian or that wacky quartet from Sydney never got their power-pop on like this. And before I knew it, I was dancing along to electronic-disco song “Robot Dancer,” an instant favorite for my little beat-loving preschool-diva. And the fun continued with “Rocketship,” a countdown-to-takeoff chant. Speaking of chanting, Frezza & Co even got Roscoe Orman, that’s Gordon from Sesame Street to your little ones, to join in for the call-and-response song “Key-O.” This album also features the band’s theme song, “Big Truck,” in a bluesy rock makeover that is made for some high-energy toddler dancing.
Apparently, leader singer Frezza has a pedigreed background in kids’ music. After leaving regional theatre to start a family, she started creating curricula for the Music Together program. Eventually, she went on to release her first CD of kids’ music and created the Big Truck band. Rockin’, Rollin’ and Ridin’ is the fifth album from this seasoned seven-person troupe, who have already been touring for years. And like any successful kids’ artists, Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck have got the Noggin seal of approval, with featured appearance on Jack’s Big Music Show and Move to the Music.

Rockin', Rollin, and Ridin'
with: Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck
Broad A: Rebecca Frezza and her 7 piece band Big Truck's new children's CD "Rockin', Rollin', and Riding" treats children to music, rhythm, beat and dancing.
Broad Z: Oh, it's a KIDS CD? Well, it had ME getting out of my seat and DANCING too.
Broad A: I have not been "exposed" to young children's music since I was a young Mom although I do watch Sesame Street (I'm opening the door wide for Broad Z to take a swat!)
Broad Z: Who me? NEVER. Why would I take a swat at your high-brow television viewing? I'm kidding of course, because I too watched Sesame Street with "B" and even invited Bert & Ernie to our wedding (almost 30 years ago). I'll have to tell you that story some time.
Broad A: This CD had me laughing and jumping and my 8 and 10 year old grandkids. We had a DanceFest.
Broad Z: Well, I listened to it first on my own and then with my niece. She made everyone at dinner get up and dance with her. Rebecca and her band have been a staple on PBS Kids as well as the Noggin Channel, so five year old "A" was VERY familiar with them.
Broad A: All of the songs were excellent; here were my faves:
* Big Truck Remix - Easy rock version of the Big Yellow Truck grooving down the road to the folksy voice of Rebecca Frezza. The instrumentals were vibrant and intricate - excellent!
* Rock Like This - Boogie music for tots and preteens. Introduces children to fun and guitar beat. Great for teaching job and body movement. Just plain joyous! We bopped around until the dog started nipping at our feet (he really wanted to dance too!)
* Hey-O - Demands participation! Gordon of Sesame Street sings along with Rebecca and has a great voice. Jaunty simple lyrics throughout that kids adore and can swing to!
Broad Z: OK, well, my niece and I just LOVED the Remix of Big Truck, but I have to say that after all of the singing, jumping and dancing that was going on, I was happy to end it all with the folksy Smiling Moon. By the way "A", I know that you listened to the CD, but we listened and WATCHED the video on my computer. Here's what you missed....
Broad A: This CD jumps, shouts, moves all about, twirls and reverberates with music that toddlers and up love. Lots of motion, great intro to instrumentals - just plain KidFun. Frezza's versatile voice - from vibrant, volatile, to VERY sweet captivates and charms.
Broad Z: I'll agree with you. For the kids the lyrics are easy to remember and sing along with, the beats are VERY danceable (comes from Ms. Frezza's background as a dancer) and the music is fun and even ADULT friendly. You may just find yourself singing and humming these tunes even when the KIDS AREN'T AROUND (although I have to say that I HATE when that happens - it makes me look like a dork).
Broad A: I highly recommend this CD for kids and adults alike. A definite stocking stuffer in this house!
Rockin', Rollin' and Ridin' with Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck will be available for purchase beginning November 10th.
A big thank you to Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck for providing the CD for our listening/reviewing as well as this giveaway.

With a big sound and a great vocal blend, delight in the smart and funny songs of Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck. Many will be familiar with their music through their music videos on Noggin and PBS Kids. The CD contains 6 new songs, two fun remixes, and a fun video; featuring a guest artist, Roscoe Orman who is "Gordon" on Sesame Street. Pop music for elementary-aged children.

Rockin’, Rollin’ and Ridin’ with Rebecca Frezza and Big Truck
I think that just knowing that Roscoe Orman is on one of the tracks makes me feel like muppets are dancing in the background. If you watch Sesame Street, you know that they have hip artists redo the lyrics to their hit songs and sing with the muppets. It just makes kids and adults happy to bounce to familiar tunes you hear on the radio. Putting in this cd gave me this vibe.
Hip, hopping jumping action comes alive in this cd. I want to get on my toy motorcycle and ride while listening to these tunes. These are great motivational songs to get your kids bouncing and giggling.
I also feel this would make a great stocking stuffer.
